How to Use Custom Wraps

Follow these instructions to create and apply custom wraps to your Tesla

Finding Templates

Download the official templates from Tesla

Tesla provides official templates for creating custom wraps. You can find them in their GitHub repository:

Select your vehicle model and download the appropriate template. Edit the template with your custom design, making sure to fill in the white areas.

Image Requirements

Follow these specifications for your wrap images

  • Resolution: 512x512 to 1024x1024 pixels (use template size for best results)
  • File Size: Images must be no larger than 1 MB
  • Format: PNG only (required by Tesla)
  • File Naming: Use alphanumeric characters, underscores, dashes, and spaces only (max 30 characters)
  • File Count: Up to 10 images can be used at a time

USB Drive Setup

Prepare your USB drive for loading wraps

Supported Formats

  • exFAT
  • FAT32 (for Windows)
  • MS-DOS FAT (for Mac)
  • ext3
  • ext4

Note: NTFS is not currently supported

Folder Structure

  1. Format the USB drive using one of the supported formats
  2. Create a folder called Wraps at the root level of the drive
  3. Place your PNG files inside the Wraps folder
  4. Ensure the drive doesn't contain any map or firmware update files

Applying Wraps in Your Vehicle

Load and apply your custom wraps on your Tesla screen

  1. Insert the USB drive into your Tesla
  2. Navigate to Toybox on your touchscreen
  3. Select Paint Shop
  4. Go to the Wraps tab
  5. Your custom wraps should appear in the list
  6. Select a wrap to apply it to your vehicle visualization

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions

Wraps not appearing?

  • Verify that the USB drive is formatted correctly and doesn't contain map or firmware update files
  • Ensure wrap images meet all requirements (PNG format, correct resolution, file size under 1 MB)
  • Check that files are in the Wraps folder at the root level
  • Try reformatting the USB drive and copying files again

Image not loading?

  • Verify the image is in PNG format (not JPG or other formats)
  • Check that the file size is under 1 MB
  • Ensure the image resolution is between 512x512 and 1024x1024 pixels
  • Check that the filename uses only allowed characters
